#ChennaiFloods
December 2, 2015 - 1 minute readChennai has had a unexpected and unusual amount of rains the past couple of days and this has resulted in the city getting massively flooded. How much did it rain you ask? The meteorological department has stated that It has rained more in a day than it usually does in an average month of rainfall. What’s worse, we’ve learnt that the heavy downpour will continue and the situation may only get worse the next 24 hours.
Extent of the Damage:
Heavy rains have flooded the entire city, making transportation almost impossible. The rising water level has also rendered the Airport and most of the Railways unuseable. People have been found stranded on their roofs as their houses have almost gone underwater. Electricity has been disrupted and so has cellphone reception. All in all the rains have left people tired, displaced, without a meal to eat, without a bed to sleep on and without clean clothes to wear.
